How to Use Bug Detectors

Kim Calise

Anybody who has worked in surveillance knows that at anytime someone else can be watching you, without you even being aware of it. The fact is there are more cameras out there than ever before, as well as more surveillance devices that are available to the average everyday Joe. And, with paranoia at an all-time high, you're more at risk of being watched than anytime previous in history. Because of this, you should consider using bug detectors.

Let's start with the most popular type of bugs first. Without a doubt, RF bugs, which infiltrate radio frequencies, are the most common bugs used. Radio frequencies are used in a variety of different circumstances, such as with cordless or mobile phones, and wireless devices.

It is important to get bug detectors that will detect RF bugs. What you're looking for is a model that has high-bandwidth and the ability to pick up a wide range of frequencies. Otherwise, you cannot be sure that you are going to locate a bug. In the past, if you were in an area that had high RF use, these type of bugs were not nearly as effective due to the interference. However, nowadays there are many bugs that allow you customizable features to compensate for this interference.

In addition to RF bugs, there are electronic bugs that are used to intercept electronic signals from one source to another. In this case, you would need bug detectors that can handle picking up electronic bugs. In fact, there are some on the market that will not only detect the bug, but even have a display to show you where the bug is located at.

Depending upon your need, there are variety of different bug detectors with simple or advanced features. Advanced detectors, not only detect the bug, but can also take the RF signal and use it to display what the security camera is seeing.

It's important to understand that if you're looking for a specific type of bug, then you're going to need the corresponding bug detector. The fact is that there are different types of bugs that use different technology. Therefore, there are different bug detectors that are needed depending on the bug. If you are unsure, then it is important to use one or more types of different bug detectors.

In conclusion, I have given you some general information as it relates to bug detectors.
